Gateway Dirt Nationals brings Chase Allen to St. Louis
Closing out the 2023 season with the Gateway Dirt Nationals, Chase Allen trekked to The Dome at America’s Center (St. Louis, Mo.) on Friday to compete in his preliminary night for the seventh running of the annual event.
With the 60 Modified invitees split amongst two groups over Thursday and Friday, Allen shot out to a strong start in his heat race after a mid-pack qualifying effort but was caught behind a spinning competitor that left him nowhere to go. Relegated into a B-Main later that night, Chase suffered a broken brake line while challenging for the lead that led to hard contact with the outer fence.
Damage to his front clip forced him to sit out Saturday’s finale.
